Last night was Vintage Faith Church's last worship gathering at Santa Cruz Bible Church. At the end of the night we crammed up in the front and did a photo (Thank you Liz). It is odd looking at the photo this morning and several things go through my mind....
- Looking at some of the people who are now really good friends who I didn't even know when we started the church 2 years ago. Kind of weird to think that when they are such a big part of my life now, yet were strangers before we started the church.
- Looking at the faces and realizing what a wonderful group of gifted, Jesus loving, committed people have chosen to be part of this missional adventure.
- It's the last time for a while we will all meet together in the same room at the same time. Starting next week we will be launching a second worship gathering in the morning, so this group will be split up for worship. We are having a picnic in May so we all will be together, but now we are moving to multiple worship gatherings so it will change the dynamic. But is needed for the next stage of the mission and life of the church.
- This is the last meeting at Santa Cruz Bible Church. Our offices are now moved out and we are entirely moved out of this space now. I have been here a long time at Santa Cruz Bible Church as youth pastor, young adult pastor and then when we launched Vintage Faith Church two years ago we have been meeting in this room every Sunday night. Many many memories here and now saying goodbye as we venture out.
- My God, it is hitting me that I can no longer sleep in on Sunday mornings. I have been able to sleep in on Sunday mornings since the worship gatherings have been Sunday nights. Now we have Sunday morning worship gatherings beginning next week. Oh Lord.
