I just got in the mail a brand new Penney's Towncraft shirt that I found which was never worn. I primarily wear Penney's Towncraft shirts that were made in the 1950's and early 60's that I find on eBay or in vintage clothing stores. But this is the first shirt I ever found that was never worn. It still was in it's cardboard backing, had the tissue paper inside and still pinned. It even had the tag on it, still attached to a string and a button. It was kind of weird pulling out the pins in the shirt that have been in there for 40 or 50 plus years.
I love the design of these shirts with their loop collars, which were very fashionable in shirts in the 1950's. The colors of most Penny Towncraft shirts are usually Technicolor-like. I am looking at it now as I type this and afraid to wear it, as it looks so beautiful and has been unworn for so many years. But, I shall break its un-usage and be very pleased to wear it tomorrow.
** I was asked about what a "loop collar" is, and I am attaching another photo of a shirt with a loop collar. They are lower and there is a little loop that goes over a tiny button to keep the collar open. You wear a t-shirt underneath. Here's a loop collar shirt:
