Scot McKnight has become a good friend of mine and someone who has tremendously helped me understand theological patterns repeated in history and implications for today amongst many other things. He is also someone who is in the leadership of starting the network/community we are launching. I thoroughly enjoy and grow from his books and I am preaching a sermon in a few weeks based out of The Blue Parakeet.
He recently was on a panel at a book expo which was focused about what is "emerging" or "emergent". Afterward he emailed about the experience (and with his permission) I am posting here what he wrote regarding what "e" word we really need to be spending the time focusing on:
"No more talk about "emerging" vs. "emergent". I shall use the "e" word - "evangelism".
That sounds good to me.
